It wasn’t quite love at first sight, but it was close. His photo was adorable, but there were lots of adorable, adoptable cats on the website, and my husband firmly told me I could not adopt them all.

What made Nibbler stand out was the description that accompanied his photo; I don’t remember the exact wording, but basically, he likes to nibble, on people as well as food and toys, and the shelter was having trouble adopting him out as a result.

My heart just melted. Poor baby! Such a cutie, and such a little thing keeping him from finding a forever home!

We went to meet him in person, and he was all over us: playing with us, in our laps, and yes, nibbling our fingers. So we adopted him and brought him home that same day!

I cannot stress enough that he really does like to nibble. Every morning when I get out of bed he comes running and nibbles my toes before they touch the floor. When I get home from work he greets me at the door and nibbles my fingers as I try to pet him. And if I’m late feeding him, those nibbles turn to chomps!
